Zendaya wearing a Bob Mackie designed dress

Past Meets Present in Zendaya’s Vintage Look from Bob Mackie’s Collection

Zendaya glistened in gold at the 2024 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. The “Dune” actress paid homage to Cher, one of this ceremony’s most iconic inductees, with an alluring gold dress and white silk trench coat ensemble from Bob Mackie’s Fall 2001 couture collection, “Foreign Intrigue”. On Instagram, Bob Mackie and Zendaya’s stylist, Law Roach, shared posts of her flaunting elegantly for cameras as she let the trench coat graciously slip to reveal the fine details of her dress. The intricacies and craftsmanship of Zendaya’s dress closely resemble Cher’s memorable gown worn in her 1972 portrait. Cher's gown from that portrait was also designed by Bob Mackie and was just one of many designs that Bob Mackie crafted for her over the years. Zendaya’s admiration for Cher was also expressed in more ways than just her fashion tribute to the pop star. As she introduced Cher on stage, Zendaya shared some heartfelt words and compliments to the musician.
